Get started in POTTERY with Laura Cardello
Students will have a great time with our fun and talented pottery instructor while building a foundation in wheel throwing and hand building. This class is geared for the student with no clay experience or for those who have taken a class and would like to continue to improve their skills. A variety of ceramic processes will be covered, including glazing and firing techniques.

Why not give BEGINNER’S PAINTING a try?
In this wonderful beginner’s painting class Dennis Snell will teach students the tricks and techniques painters use to make their paintings pop! Students will learn about brushes, how to arrange their palette, how to mix colors, how to tone a canvas and much more. We will work from photographs and will have Plein Air sessions where students will paint outside on location. Students will learn the rules of composition and how to build a painting from dark to light. Students can choose their medium, either oil or acrylic paint.

Continue learning in INTERMEDIATE PAINTING
Students will learn how to arrange colors on the palette, tone the canvas, mix colors, how to use color harmony, temperature and intensity to acheive fresh, bright color while avoiding muddy mixtures. Paint application techniques will include blending, scumbling and exploring ways to render edges, shapes, light and form. Students will learn to work from photographs, creating a strong underdrawing that will be their guide for applying initial shadow colors and working from dark to light. Be sure to bring a good attitude, willingness to learn and a sense of humor!*All students MUST attend the first class

Learn foundational skills in COLOR PENCIL DRAWING
Renowned artist Sylvester Hickmon brings his talent for drawing to an adult audience this Fall in a 5-week class offering. Students will start from scratch and learn with one of the acknowledged masters of the medium about the use of color pencils to create intensely colorful, life-like drawings through the application of color layering, blending and lifting techniques in addition to basic drawing instruction. This class is for students who are serious about and dedicated to learning to draw. Student grade art supplies included.

Attention Shutterbugs! DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY with Mark Duffie
Study camera techniques that go beyond the auto setting. Learn basic camera parts and how they affect the look of the final image. Study exposure, depth of field, perspective, composition, and the basics of digital photography to produce beautiful photos. A SLR or DLSR camera is recommended, but not necessary.
