Painting and Pottery, for All!

Adult Pottery with Josh Houben
6 weeks: January 28th – March 4th, Mondays, 5:30 – 7:30 pm; Ages 16+
Learn many techniques in the art of working with clay, and creating ceramic artwork! Students can expect to learn both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. We will also explore decorating, using slips, and glaze formulation.
Big, Bold Painting with Amanda Cox
6 weeks: February 7th – March 14th, Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:30 pm; Ages 16+
Learn to tone canvas, mix paint and use complementary colors for intensity. Students will work from photographs to create underdrawings as a guide for applying shadows and then working from dark to light. Paintbrushes and palette knives will be used to achieve and accentuate unique compositions, such as vibrant landscapes and bold still-lifes.
Spring Ceramics with G. Cole Miller
6 weeks: March 12th – April 16th, Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:30 pm; Ages 16+
Learn the step-by-step processes of the art of working with clay, and creating ceramic artwork. Students can expect to learn foundational hand-building techniques and throw on the pottery wheel. We will also explore decorating, using slips, and glaze formulation. Make beautiful ceramic pieces for your home and for gifts!
Acrylic Painting with Carolita Cantrell
6 weeks: April 4th – May 16th*, Tuesdays, 4:30 – 6:30 pm; Ages 16+
Join Carolita on an unique journey through painting techniques. Students will apply fundamental drawing skills to acrylic painting. Using a variety of techniques including creating texture and incorporating depth and combining color, students will create expressive still-lifes and landscapes.
