Kid’s will have a blast expressing themselves artistically though the medium of clay. Students will learn to throw on the potter’s wheel, build a variety of pieces utilizing traditional hand-building techniques and explore fun surface decoration applications.

Thursdays, 4:30-6 pm, Ages 8-17

5 weeks: February 1 – March 1

5 weeks: March 15 – April 19 (no class April 5)

Learn from the best in INTRO TO YOUTH DRAWING: STILL-LIFE

If you have an interest in learning what it’s like to draw, but don’t know how to get started, then this class is for you! You’ll have the opportunity to learn the basics of drawing materials and techniques. Working from direct observation of a still life, the instructor will provide a demo and you will learn how to translate three-dimensional space to a two-dimensional image.

This class will involve learning to describe shapes with line, direction, and speed. Addressing additive and reductive ways of working and how to utilize the light and dark to create volume.

Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 pm, Ages 8 & up

5 weeks: February 1 – March 1

Grow creatively in COMICS 101!

Explore the rich history and learn the fundamental techniques involved in creating sequential art!  Learn about the terminology and tools of the trade, the essentials of proportions, poses suggesting action, and more.  Students will explore the methods of producing their favorite comic book characters and craft their own comic strip!
